Milinkovic Voted MVP
Olympiakos Piraeus' star Argentine player Markos Milinkovic was voted by accredited journalists as the Most Valuable Player of the 2005 Austrian Airlines Top Teams Cup. A total of eight Individual Player Awards were presented, with the top players emerging from the official tournament statistics, plus a vote by the head coaches of the participating teams.

Olympiakos shut out Holland's Ortec Nesselande Rotterdam in straight sets, to win the 2005 Austrian Airlines Top Teams Cup, before over 12,000 ecstatic fans in Piraeus, Saturday evening. Olympiakos defeated the Dutch 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-23) in 76 minutes, to win the second European volleyball trophy in the club's history. Ortec finished second for the silver medal, with the Czech Republic's Dukla Liberec winning the bronze and the second Dutch team of the tournament, Omniworld Almere ending up fourth. Olympiakos had also won the European Cup-Winners' Cup in 1996.

Dukla Liberec Edges Dutch in Five for Bronze
The Czech Republic's Dukla Liberec came back from 1-2 to defeat Holland's Omniworld Almere 3-2 (25-20, 25-27, 20-25, 25-17, 15-06) in almost two hours before some 9,000 spectators, to win the bronze medal of the 2005 Austrian Airlines Top teams Cup. The gold medal will be decided in the final, which follows immediately, featuring the host team of Olympiakos Piraeus and Holland's Ortec Nesselande Rotterdam.

Olympiakos Joins Ortec in Final
Olympiakos Piraeus remained on target for a repeat of the 1996 triumph that brought the Greek team its only European title thus far. The Piraeus team defeated the Czech Republic's Dukla Liberec 3-0 (25-22, 25-17, 25-20) before some 7,000 fans, in the second semi-final of the 2005 Austrian Airlines Top Teams Cup and qualified to Saturday's final. Olympiakos will face Holland's Ortec Nesselande Rotterdam, beginning at 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT). Earlier (starting at 16:00 local time or 14:00 GMT), the second Dutch entrant of the Final Four, Omniworld Almere, will take on Dukla Liberec for the bronze medal.

Ortec Nesselande Clinch Berth in Final
Ortec Nesselande Rotterdam shut out rivals Omniworld Almere in an all-Dutch semi-final to clinch a berth in Saturday's final of the 2005 Austrian Airlines Top Teams Cup, in Piraeus. Ortec came from behind in the third set, to score a clear victory in straight sets, 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-23) in 74 minutes. Ortec will now meet the winner of the second semi-final, which features the host team of Olympiakos Piraeus and the Czech Republic's Dukla Liberec, starting at 21:00 local time (19:00 GMT).
